Frequently asked questions
Is PetMerge free to use?
Yes. The Free plan covers one pet with a standard health record, 500 MB of storage and PDF export. Upgrade when you need more pets, storage, share links, vaccine reminders or the full archive with original files.
Do I need an account to try it?
You can browse the site and try the printable templates without an account. Saving a record, uploading files or exporting a PDF requires a free account.
Can I upload PDFs and photos of paper records?
Yes. Upload photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), scans and PDFs — vaccine booklets, discharge summaries, lab reports, invoices and medication labels all work.
Does PetMerge support multiple pets?
Yes — dogs, cats and other companion animals. Premium supports up to 5 pets and Pro up to 20, each with its own record, documents and sharing settings. The Free plan covers one pet.
Will PetMerge read my files or show them to anyone?
No. PetMerge never reads or changes the files you upload, and your archive stays private. Only you see it — plus the household members you invite on Pro. Exports and share links are always created by you.
Are exported PDFs official veterinary certificates?
No. PetMerge records are user-built summaries for organization and communication. They are not official veterinary certificates, diagnoses or travel documents.
Does PetMerge remind me when vaccinations are due?
Yes. Premium and Pro email you ahead of due dates — vaccinations 30 days before expiry, follow-up visits 7 days before, and weight checks not updated for 90 days. You can turn reminders on or off in Settings.
Can I share my pet's record with a vet or sitter?
Yes. On Premium and Pro you can create a private, view-only link with an expiry date and optional password, choosing exactly which sections it shows. On the Free plan you can export a PDF instead.
How do I delete my data?
You can delete individual pets and documents in the app at any time — deleted pets stay in a 30-day recycle bin so you can undo mistakes. You can also delete your entire account in Settings, which permanently removes the household, records and files.
